About Us

Pastor Jamie Reising will be Ordained on Friday, September 24 as Trinity’s new Minister.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church is a community of Christ, growing together in faith. We grow together by worshiping, learning about God, and serving God’s world. You are welcome to be part of our community, too!

Rev. Dr. Mark Pries is our Transitional Pastor

Pastor Pries began his ministry as Transitional Pastor with Trinity Evangelical Lutheran in February 2021.  As a Transitional Pastor he serves as the pastor of Trinity while guiding the congregation in a time of self-study in which we prayerfully open ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  He brings with him 42 years of parish ministry experience and 3 semesters of certified training for interim pastoral service.  He describes our ministry together in this way: “With the Spirit’s guidance we will affirm the rich history of how God has ministered through Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 165 years and open ourselves to God’s leading during this transitional season and beyond.”

Our Congregation

We value our connections with the community, from our work to end hunger by founding the Backpack Buddy program to send food home with needy schoolkids on the weekend to our connections with local Habitat for Humanity builds. We are connected with the broader church through the Southeastern Iowa Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

We also value growing together in our faith. We have education opportunities for everyone from kindergarten on up, including Sunday morning classes, summertime Vacation Bible School, a monthly women’s Bible Study, Confirmation classes for 5th-8th graders, a women’s book group, and more.

We believe that everyone needs a community where they find support and love. We hope you will consider making Trinity your community, too!
