I. Call to Order/Attendance – Mike, Terri, Laurie, Janel, Kristy, Elain
II. Devotion and prayer – Laurie- a reading “For Who You Might Become”
III. Administration
A. Approve Minutes -Motion to approve August Minutes by Janel, 2nd by Laurie,
motion carried with no dissents
B. Treasurer’s Report – Elaine- Motion to approve by Mike, 2nd by Janel, motion
carried with no dissents
IV. Previous Business (compilation of issues from the past six months):

A. Trinity’s Promise -Fidelity and Thrivent Investment Fund Reports
-Laurie Requested from Sara Martin
-Sara will send most recent report. Thrivent has changed the system they use, once their
system conversion is complete, Sara will again be able to access the information.
B. Bible Study – Laurie
-Begins 9/18 , Wednesday’s 5-6pm in Fellowship Hall Light meal service
-October is World Hunger month and ELCA is doing a 50 year celebration, may use some of

these materials
C. Quilt/Backpack Blessing Service 9/22/ – Laurie
-Laurie and Charline will be doing this service together
D. God’s Work our Hands Sunday
– ** Picked October 20th
–What needs on the list?
● Clean exterior and interior of all windows
● Rake Leaves / Fall Lawn Maintenance (probably need a leaf raking day later-zone 1 for
leaf pickup)
● Test/Change batteries in smoke alarms/CO detectors
● remove bad fridge from behind alter
● clean in basement? (message sent to Kim P.)
● clean out fridge in kitchen

V. New Business:
A. Pastor Marcia Update – Laurie
-Pastor Marcia requested to step back from all church activities. She has been having an
issue with her arm and doctors are still trying to figure it out. She indicated she will likely move back
to Wisconsin soon.
B. Worship Schedule– Laurie
-Laurie shared the revamped schedule without Pastor Marcia
C. Confirmation Sunday – Laurie/Kristy
-October 27th
-Kristy will find out if Amelia will participate (Ed. Meeting 9/25)
-Laurie found out SAMs are able to confirm, Deb will be doing it
D. Funerals – Clarification of Process/Procedures – Terri
-Who does what?
-Who contacts Whom?
-People who need to be contacted include:
-Property committee for set up
-Alicia for cleaning
-Caitlyn for communication
-Elaine for organist
-Neva for funeral luncheon
-A list of responsibilities for funerals needs to be created (Mike and Terri will start one)
-A binder of hymns and readings for families to choose from should be available
-Laurie had suggested a template for order of worship stored in computer files
E. Thermostat in Sanctuary – Terri
-Temperature to keep at when no one there (Currently 74)
-How to override as needed
-Add Programming for:
Sundays 8am-1pm 70 degrees
-It was decided to leave the thermostat at 74 except for Sunday morning. We might

need to put it back to 74 when leaving since programming has been removed.
F. Property Committee Updates/Concerns/Ideas
Exterior Doors:
● Back Door/Frame – Rusting out
● Fellowship Hall Doors – Getting more difficult to open/lock/unlock,

some rust
● Church Exterior Doors – Can’t open
● **Council approved Mike investigating prices and options for these doors
Other:
▪ Painting exterior of Fellowship Hall-Brenda will ask for price from person who did her
house-possible project for spring
▪ A/C in pastor’s office completed
▪ Mike meeting with Don Roth about automatic door opener
▪ Furnace room drain snaked and seems fixed, mold issue will be addressed by Mike
and Mike
▪ Kitchen sink leak is now repaired
▪ Yews trimmed

G. Committee Updates
a. Education Kristy Wings update
i. ‘Wings project’ will be discussed at next meeting 9/25
ii. Sunday school will be during choir practice on Wednesdays
iii. Confirmation class will be tailored to Blakely’s schedule and her choice
of mission
iv. Kristy will find out if Amelia will participate in Confirmation Sunday
b. Worship & Tech Kristy
c. Property Mike Lawn update
i. best way to deal with quack grass is to have more lush grass so Mike
has been fertilizing
d. Stewardship Kendra
e. Evangelism Kendra Superhero Camp 8/31
i. Sara S. reported over 300 kids stopped by her booth. Leftover bags
from the fair were given out. We should plan for a budget and booth
next year-great opportunity!

-there is a new lay ministry 2 year training suggested but NOT required $450
